Face Yourself: The Selphyl™ System
Non-Surgical ‘Facelift’
The hands of time spare no one. Maybe some of us fare better than others (at least it seems that way), a function of genetics and exposure to the elements.
At Rejuva, we’re using nature, our own nature, to give us back the smoother skin we thought we’d lost forever. It’s called Selphyl™. It’s simple, it’s safe and it’s effective.
Dr. Rademaker has pioneered the Selphyl™ System in the Tampa, Fla. region returning an organically youthful appearance to women who were ready for more radical or invasive treatments. Simply put, Selphyl™ harnesses your own body’s healing and growth factors to revitalize your skin and help restore your natural beauty.
Heralded as the non-surgical “facelift,” the Selphyl™ System uses platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix, taken from a small amount of your specially processed blood, to fill in hollows, lines and even smooth pre-jowl pouches.
Because it’s autologous – you’re your own donor and recipient — there are no foreign substances. There is no risk of allergic or adverse reactions.
Within two to three months of initial treatment, Selphyl™ takes full effect. The ravages of time, weather and age begin to disappear.
From the patient’s perspective, the process is simple. A couple of vials of donated blood, yours, are spun in a centrifuge that separates Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) from other matter. This dense concentrate is transferred through a closed system to a second tube, which creates Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix.
All that’s left is to choose the spots you want to go after and inject the homemade (literally) serum in a quick series of shots. From beginning to end, the whole procedure takes about a half hour.
More than that, there’s no place on the face (and hands) that it can’t be treated. It’s not the stuff of radical transformation. Instead it’s sure and relatively steady. Like everything, Selphyl™ will work better on some people than others depending on age, skin type and underlying health issues.
Clinical experience indicates the results last at least 12 months with many doctors and patients reporting longer-term effects.
For maximum benefits, it requires a cosmetic specialist, optimally a plastic surgeon, with a deep knowledge of facial structure and an artistic eye to achieve the most natural-looking results.
Tampa-based plastic surgeon, Dr. Bart Rademaker, a leader in the field, makes keeping the results as organic-looking as possible He knows precisely how deep each injection should be, where it should be placed and how much to inject at each site. With a practice grounded in his deepening understanding of the body’s remarkable restorative and regenerative capabilities, Dr. Rademaker believes in in Selphy’s™ consistent outcomes without resorting to outside drugs or products. He’s an ardent advocate now training other plastic surgeons in the Selphyl™ technology and technique.
