Manual Lymph Drainage
“Dear Dr. Rademaker and Elisa,
I just wanted to take a few minutes and write to you about my experience and results upon completing the Manual Lymph Drainage Massage. I had a baby about two years years ago, during my pregnancy, I gained about 65 pounds, had no morning sickness and had to laxatives through out my pregnancy in order to go to the bathroom. Needless to say, everything I ate stayed with me all nine months and every part of my body was swollen!
Two years after labor, my “system” was still clogged, hands/feet still swollen and had not lost very much of the weight. I’ve gotten a personal trainer, tried to change eating habits but nothing was helping me to get my system back on track. I went for my annual physical with my General Practitioner, we talked about what’s been going on and she suggested to me that I try Lymph Drainage to perhaps help clean my system out and “jump start” it, clean things out first and that will help your additional fiber and water intake do what it’s suppose to do for your body.
As a 21st century consumer, I started researching what is “Lymph Drainage” and how does this compare or differ from a colon cleanse?? And where in Tampa is the service performed? I found services in Clearwater/St. Pete but I didn’t want to go that far. One day I was reviewing Rejuva’s service menu (I wanted to come in for a facial) and saw Lymph Drainage on the service menu!! I was so excited! As a long time client of the Medspa, I had faith and trust in the quality of service given, so I didn’t give it a second thought in wanting to come to the Rejuva for my first Lymph Drainage treatment!!
When I met with Elisa for the first time, she was great! She explained to me the Lymph System and what it does for our bodies and what I was to expect after the Manual Lymph Drainage session and I explained to her my recent issues. NOW….for the next 24 hours following the session, I was looking for all things to happen with my body and I wasn’t seeing what Elisa explained to me, however, I did have gas!!! My session was on a Thursday and on Saturday, I was running to the bathroom! Everything Elisa told me to expect happened!! Thank goodness I was home for the day!! LOL! After my first MLD session, I saw a difference in my hands, my feet and stomach!! OMG!!!! It’s been over two years since I’ve been able to wear my shoes and now I was able to get back in them!!
I did a second session with Elisa, we talked about session one and Elisa explained to me that my “system” was so backed up, that it took the two days things “wake up” (if you will) and move out of my body. I did a second and third session, the second session it did not take two days for my body to respond and by the third session, it was an even quicker response.
I was very happy with the results and will keep this treatment on my “Personal Care” list going forward!
